The following list is a useful reminder of things that need to be done when you are moving house. There is often too much to remember so we have made it easy for you by providing you with a checklist which you can print out.
Confirm dates with mover Notify HP and credit firms
Sign and return contract Make local map to new house for friends and moving company
Arrange insurance Clear the loft
Arrange a contact number Organise parking at new home
Dispose of anything you don’t want Plan where things to go in new home
Start running down freezer contents Cancel milk/newspapers
Contact carpet fitters if needed Clear out the freezer
Book mains services for disconnections Arrange minders for children/pets
Cancel all rental agreements Find and label keys
Notify doctor, dentist, optician, vet Address cards to friends and family
Tell your bank and savings accounts Take down curtains/blinds
Inform telephone company Collect children’s toys
Ask PO to re-route mail Put together basic catering for family at new home
Tell TV licence, car registration, passport offices
